Mississippi Center for Police and Sheriffs (hereinafter “MCFPS”) has operated for over 15 years providing shelter, safety, and outreach services to victims of violent crime and those who have and are facing homelessness due to domestic violence, human trafficking, run away youth that are part of the juvenile justice system, re-entry from the Department of Corrections, and the medically vulnerable population.
The Center for Police and Sheriffs has developed programs that address the root causes and contributors to homelessness for persons that are often encountered by law enforcement. Our proactive mission is designed to address the most basic needs of our community members served – being food, shelter, and safety – thereby limiting the need for law enforcement engagement or intervention.
We are currently providing services to our community through multiple programs including but not limited to: HOPWA, Emergency Solutions Grant housing, our USDA funded rural area low-income farm school, Homes for the Homeless program, Warrior Cottages transitional housing for Veterans, as well as, providing assistance to our partner organizations and local, state, and federal agencies if and when needed in the areas of shelter, housing, safety, and/or victim's services.
We are proud to partner with these local organizations, and many others, to make a difference in our communities.
